okays, this was supposed to be updated yesterday but i was too tired to switch on my laptop so than i updated today. read sharon's blog yesterday and i agree with her that it was a unique day yesterday as we make a trip down to IMH. you must be thinking why do we go down to IMH, are we somehow of 'sick'? but nononono we are not, we went down for the volunteer orientation to know more about IMH and their volunteering system thats all. after the briefing, we were brought around the place and the lady brought us to the female ward. i was in shock when i realised that it was not like a hospital or a prison but a combination of the both of them. the patients inside couldn't walk around like they want, they are all 'locked' up in one room and doors are being set-up with security-tab card system. Only with the tab card than you can enter. when we were standing outside the ward cleaning our hands before entering there was two woman who actually walk over to the door looking at us before entering, they face looks scary and emotion-less. It really hurts me when i sees most of them were like elderly and they got to stay there at this age with this illness, i really asked myself where are they families. why aren't they there for them when they needed them most? when later i notice one woman was being binded down to the bed, like sharon my heart sank down. than after that there is another woman who came forward singing us a song in dialect, though i don't really understand what was she singing but somehow still could understand a little. after we left, hearing from sharon than i know she is singing about her life during the past. they are really very genuine in their feelings and emotions and know how to express it out using this kind of method. after this trip to IMH, i really appreciate my wonderful life now that i have been given a healthy body, mind and soul. really hope people out there could learn how to appreciate theirs when someone in there is suffering something worse from them. =( |
