안녕, 여러분!

`

I am back for my Taipei Christmas Travelogue 2016,
I have been damn busy recently at work
and has been procrastinating to blog on my overdue travelogue.

`

Now, it is finally Day 2 of the trip.
It's also Christmas Eve.

`
We woke up early as usual for most of our trips together
and usually people would not set any alarms during trip
as it should be a slow and steady.
However, Vanessa and I would set alarm
when we are on trip so we could utilise every time
we have during our trip.

Ready to leave the apartment for Day 2

`

We walked down to Xi Men Ding from our apartment
to have our brunch and it took us 15 minutes or so to reach there.
There is a lot of eatery around the area and we couldn't make
up our mind which one to go to, so in the end we just
entered the one that has the most people in it.

The place is quite small, squeeze and shabby
but still maintained it minimal cleanliness. We ordered
a few dishes to share so we could eat more later on.

We ordered Fried Carrot Cake, Fried Oyster Omelette,
Oyster Mee Sua and some Steamed squid with sauce.
It wasn't really very tasty but it's what
their local usually eat and there is a lot of
locals in there too.

After brunch, we took the metro down
to Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall

Direction:

C.K.S Memorial Hall Station
(Green / Red Line), Exit 5

Opening Hours: 9.00am to 6.00pm
Admission Fees: Free of charge

Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall is mainly a museum
and a place to remember the things that Chiang Kai Chek
has done for Taiwan. We stayed there for around 2-3 hours
visiting most of the exhibits in the museum.

`

After the museum tour at Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall,
we headed down for some shopping at Wu Fen Pu Market

Direction:

Hou Shan Pi Station, Exit 1
Opening Hours: 11.00am to 12.00am

`
When we reached and exited Hou Shan Pi station,
we actually got lost at that area till we used
our google maps to move around the area to get to Wu Fen Pu.

The entrance of Wu Fen Pu

One of the streets of Wu Fen Pu

It was drizzling when we reached there and everyone has
their umbrella out, it is pretty hard to shop.
But, a while later, the rain stopped and the shopping resume.

Wu Fen Pu is a large shopping area, a little resemblance to
Pratunum Market in Bangkok. Some of their clothes are really cheap
but some are way too expensive to get. We didn't really shop much there
as the time the clothes are not suitable for Singapore weather.
Even so, we still managed to comb the whole area within a
few hours before the day turns dark.

`

Soon, our stomachs starts to growl as we did not had our lunch
and we made our way down to Raohe Night Market for dinner.

Raohe Night Market was crazily crowded
and both of us went in from the wrong lane, which
walked the opposite direction from everyone
(how smart can we be right?)

Black Pepper Bun

In process of making ...

First food of the night is the famous Black Pepper Bun
that a lot of people is queuing up for. We waited for around 10 minutes
for the piping hot bun.

武大朗 胡椒饼

It is made of marinated meat and I don't taste
the peppery-taste of the bun as I only
react to the piping hot feel.

As we made our way squeezing in through
the crowd of the opposite direction of everyone,
we had our second food of the night.

It is the XXL Chicken Cutlet, although it is
not the Hot Star brand but it is pretty nice too,
just that the coating of the cutlet is a little too much.
We didn't finished the whole thing as it was
too much for us to finished.

So, we threw it away after finishing 3/4 of the
cutlet before going for the next food of the night.

We ate a lot of food in Raohe but unfortunately
because the place is too crowded and there isn't much
space for me to bring up my DSLR.

Cartoon Characters Egg Cake

Pika ... Pika ... Pikachu

`

Next,
From Raohe Night Market
we took the metro back to Xi Men Ding

Xi Men Station

At the crowded Xi Men Ding

We took the metro back from Raohe to Xi Men Ding.
It was really crowded and fill with people everywhere
with not only the tourists but full of their locals,
mainly teenagers and young adults.

`
We walked around Xi Men Ding area before
heading back to our apartment to rest for the day.

Since, it is Christmas Eve,
we had an mini gift exchange with each other.

Our mini gift exchange

A little unglamorous but our shag look
after a day.
