I am back for my day 2 JB travelogue.
So,
as for day 2, I woke up as usual early
but this time, I don’t have SH to
talk to me early in the morning like previously
what we did in Malacca.
We finally get our ass off the bed at around 9 plus
to head down for breakfast and get our toothbrush.
Both of us thought that the hotel would
provide toothbrushes for us, so in the end
we did not bring any.
However, we decided to have breakfast first
before going over to City Square Mall to get
out toothbrush. I know it is alittle gross
but stomach comes first.
We went for some local breakfast just opposite
the hotel with our PJs on.
I ordered a 2 pieces of egg prata while KG
ordered chicken beehoon goreng and both
of us shared a plate of nasi lemak.
After a fulfilling breakfast, we headed over to
City Square Mall to get our toothbrushes and
do some shopping over there.
We did a quick shopping at City Square Mall and
returned back to the hotel to wash up to
get ready for check out. I feel this is the time
that both of us get ready the fastest and
before 1pm, we are ready to check out of the room.
Next, we got a Grab to Holiday Plaza to get
handphone cases and screen protector. So far,
I feel that the cases and protector sold at there is
the most valued for money.
Then, we headed for some caffeine boost for KG
at one of the cafe adjacent of Holiday Plaza.

Doi Chang Signature Coffee
We sat down at the Doi Chang for a while
before heading over to KSL Mall. Did not really
buy anything at KSL Mall but went into the newly
opened Daiso and got some stuffs.
After Daiso, we went to 顺顺肉骨茶 for
early dinner before leaving JB.
It was really crowded and packed with people
It is just opposite KSL Mall near the KFC entrance.
The best combination is to have Bah Kut Teh
with dough fritters and must dipped it into
the soup. The taste of both the soup and
the dough fritter is really AWESOME!
After dinner,
we took a GRAB back to City Square Mall to
cross the bridge to the checkpoint.
We got a shocked of our life when we reached
the JB checkpoint, we thought the queue was horrendously
long but it was not for the regular counter. It was
those who paid for the MACS system. This time, clearing Malaysia immigration is much more faster then the other times we were there. We cleared both immigration within like an hour and took a bus to Woodland Temp Interchange to take a bus back.
I was too tired that I fell asleep on the bus ride
to Punggol. Luckily, I woke up in time to alight at
the bus stop, if not, I will be travelling to Tampines.
Alright!
This is the end of my 2D1N JB Travelogue.
Hope you enjoy it!

I have just came back yesterday from JB for a
really short trip before I start my work tomorrow.
This trip was planned with KG 小妹 and really appreciate her
efforts to book the hotel plus the train tickets from SG to JB Sentral.
The trip is a 2D1N trip just to chill, eat and shop in JB.
On my way to Bugis Junction to meet KG 小妹
I met 小妹 at around 2pm at Bugis Junction to have a quick lunch
and withdraw money for currency exchange in JB before heading over to
Woodland Train Checkpoint.
As usual, we had Ban Mian from the food court in Bugis Junction
and after lunch, we went to get KOI from Bugis Plus then head down
to Queens street to catch a bus down to Woodlands Checkpoint.
When we reach Woodland Checkpoint, we realised that there
isn't a link for us to reach Woodland Train Checkpoint from
the usual checkpoint route and we had to seek help from the ICA officer.
In the end, we had to hand over our passport in order to be
escorted out from Woodland Checkpoint and make
our way to the Woodland Train Checkpoint.
It was really joke but another memorable thing to remember.
We need to reach the Train Checkpoint 30 minutes before the train departs
which is at 1600 hours. However, when we reached there, we are not
allow to enter and there was a long queue. We were only allow to enter at around 1615
but it was rather fast in clear the immigration at the train checkpoint.
This is my first time taking the train into JB so it was really an eye-opener for me
when I saw that immigration clearance is done even before we take the train
to JB and it don't have to be done again when we reach our destination.
The duration of the train took about 5 minutes to reach JB Sentral.
The first thing we did when we reached JB was to exchange currency at one of
the money changer situated at City Square Mall then we went over to DIGI
to top-up 小妹's Malaysia's number so that we can call for GRAB to travel around.
GRAB was the only transport we used in JB other than walking and it is really accessible,
cheap and safe to travel by GRAB rather than the usual Taxi. At least,
we know that we won't be charge extra by using GRAB.
After getting everything done at City Square Mall, we headed over to the
street opposite City Square Mall where our hotel is situated.
We stayed in Citrus Hotel as recommended by 小妹 and I would say it is relatively good
hotel and is affordable as well.

After checking into our room, we got everything ready and left for Paradigm Mall
via GRAB. Paradigm Mall was quite a distance away from City Square Mall and KSL
but I feel that they are one of the biggest mall in JB having all the
big retail store like, H&M, Uniqlo, Adidas and Cotton On.
We went to one of the restaurant Arashi Shabu-Shabu in Paradigm Mall.
Everything was nice to us on the menu and we ordered 3 sets to share among us.
We ordered a beef shabu-shabu set, a teriyaki teppanyaki set and a bibimbap to share,
it was a relatively filling dinner.

Teriyaki Chicken Teppanyaki

After dinner, we walked around the Mall and headed to Padini, H&M, Uniqlo and Cotton On
for shopping. However, the H&M there was quite disappointing as there isn't much
to shop as compared to the one in City Square Mall. The only places we had
a good shopping was H&M, Uniqlo and Padini.
We also went to Popular bookstore and I was crazy over the pens there, I really wanted
to buy every Sarasa pens there. It was so beautiful and as compared to Singapore,
every affordable. Still, I bought the whole range of Sarasa pens to help me start up
my work on Monday.
Finally, I managed to customise my own passport cover at RM$23,
it was really nice and I love the colour so much.
Soon, our sweet tooth went in the way
of shopping and we went for some ice cream at Emack & Bolio's.
The both of us shared an ice cream cone together and wanting to go for a less intense one
but we order an intense flavour of Dark Chocolate with Chocolate Rice Cone.

With our ice-cream on hand, we continued our shopping around Paradigm Mall till 10pm
and all the shops started to closed.
We headed down to Sawadee Resort and Spa for massage and as we are not able
to have oil massage, we went for Thai massage instead.
It was pain and shiok at the same time.
Waiting for our masseurs to come in
The massage marks the end of our night as we headed back to the hotel
to rest for night. After returning the hotel and done with our washing up,
小妹 realised that the hotel don't give toothbrush and we had to go
get one the next morning.
It was really an enjoyable first day and I hope you will look forward to the second day
of fun, also our last day before heading back to SG in the evening.
